This project tackled an intricate piece of the Pure Water project for the City of Oceanside. It delivered pure water from the Advanced Water Purification Facility (AWPF) to injection wells that tap into the underground aquifer. The project consisted of installing 2 miles of 12 and 18 inch, PVC pure water mains, and flushing mains, through residential areas of the City of Oceanside. We also constructed 3 injection wells which include full power and SCADA installations, underground vaults, motor operated valves, and 60 foot column pipes with submersible pumps and Baski control valves. This project was a part of a grant which required all materials to meet American Iron and Steel requirements. One mile of finish paving was also installed curb to curb. Challenges for this project included, working through the covid pandemic, material shortages, and deep manhole installations in ground water.

Scope of work included:

• 14,500 linear feet of 8 – 96 inch RCP/PVC/HDPE/CMP storm drain main
• 160 minor concrete structures
• 10 underground storm trap detention vaults
• 11 modular wetland BMP units
• 12 pre-cast concrete water polishing units
• The sewer system included, 10,500 linear feet of six inch main, 54 sewer manholes and 272 residential PVC sewer services
• The domestic water system included 19,600 feet of C900 PVC main with 463 associated laterals and appurtenances
• A reclaimed water system was also available from the city which included 5,430 linear feet of 8 inch C900 PVC and 14 irrigation services and related laterals
• A separate fire system loop was installed to service the the affordable housing section, which included 4,530 linear feet of 8 inch C900 PVC main, 13 three-way fire hydrant assemblies, 4 complete reduced pressure detector assembly backflow preventers
