Description

Eden Gardens Sewer Pump Station was a Design-Bid-Build project for the City of Solana Beach. The work consisted of demolition and reconstruction of an existing sewer pump station. Live sewer bypassing, deep excavation with beam and plate shoring system, and groundwater dewatering were required. The scope of the project also included structural concrete, specialty paint and coatings, new masonry station building with electrical and instrumentation improvements, new surge tank, bus stop canopy, landscaping and irrigation, street improvements, metal beams and guard rail.

This project was particularly challenging as it was located in Del Mar on a very small parcel at the intersection of two major streets that led to the front gate of the Del Mar Fairgrounds. This high profile location required community and business outreach, extensive traffic control implementation, and modified work hours.
