Country Club Reservoir Upgrades

Valley Center Municipal Water District

Valley Center

The Valley Center Municipal Water District needed to enlarge the Country Club Reservoir, an existing hilltop reservoir that serves the community of Valley Center, CA. The existing single basin reservoir was reconfigured to create two separate basins within the same footprint, enlarging the total capacity to 10,200,000 gallons. Significant earthwork was required, including 19,000 cubic yards of rock excavation and GPS grading to precisely grade the reservoir.

Other upgrades included:

  • Chlorination building and piping upgrades
  • Installation of a 122,000 pound, 2-piece, below ground, precast flow control vault
  • 800 linear feet of inlet/outlet CML&C piping
  • 1640 linear feet of perimeter ring wall at the top of the reservoir to accommodate a floating cover
