Description

As a result of expansion within the San Diego Zoo and to remain in compliance with the new Storm Water General Permit regulations, it was necessary to construct a new system regulating runoff water. The San Diego Zoo selected TC Construction for this turn-key construction project.

The project included:

  • Mass excavation of over 25 feet deep
  • 4,000+ square feet of soldier pile shoring
  • Installation of a large 380,000 gallon, cast in place concrete storm water equalization tank structure which consisted of over 1,500 cubic yards of poured in place
  • Sewer, storm drain, and dry utility improvements
  • Cast-in-place retaining wall
  • Grading on-site and off-site
  • Asphalt paving
  • Electrical control modifications
  • Colored finish concrete
  • Landscape improvements
